After four decades of quiet, the volcano in southern Chile erupted explosively on April 22, 2015.
The first and second images are by Joshua Stevens, NASA Earth Observatory, and Jeff Schmaltz, LANCE/EOSDIS Rapid Response at NASA Goddard.
