Mudslide Near Collbran, Colorado

The Grand Mesa of western Colorado is extremely prone to landslides, and on May 25, an unusually large one sped across some three miles near the town of Collbran.

This Landsat 5 image was taken on May 26, 1992 using Bands 3,2,1. Notice the dunes nearest the coast pointing in a northeasterly direction. This indicates coastal expansion.
